If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and collaborating with others, this is an excellent opportunity to build your accounting career with an established company that values and rewards committed teammates who are eager to learn and grow.The Bookkeeper plays an important role in maintaining accurate and timely customer billing, collections, financial reporting, and month-end accounting activities. This position works closely with customers as well as our operations, shipping, and management teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes.Key ResponsibilitiesGenerate and distribute customer invoices and apply incoming paymentsMonitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collectionCoordinate with internal departments to prepare domestic & international shipping documentation, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of parts.Collaborate with internal teams to prepare & maintain projected billing reportsPrepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports to support operational and business reporting needsSupport month-end and year-end close activities by preparing reports, reconciling data, and assisting with accounting processes as neededCollaboration & SupportCommunicate effectively with customers and internal teamsSupport the Controller and Treasurer with projects and reportingAssist with process improvements and maintaining accounting procedures and documentationQualificationsExperience in Accounts Receivable and general accountingProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with ERP systems (AS400 or similar systems preferred)Associate degree in Accounting or related experience is a plusSkills & AttributesStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesEffective communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHigh level of integrity and ability to handle confidential informationCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly payMedical, dental, and prescription coverage for employees and families401(k) with company matchPaid Time Off and paid holidaysCompany-paid life and disability insuranceVoluntary life and disability insuranceHoliday Savings PlanFree access for employees & their families to company owned fitness facilityAbout MetalexMetalex is a precision machining company with over 55 years of experience serving industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, and space.
