We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join a construction-focused organization in north Georgia. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping financial operations organized, accurate, and on schedule while supporting daily accounting activities in an office-based environment. The role centers on transaction processing, record maintenance, reconciliations, and administrative accounting support that helps the team operate efficiently. Previous construction/subcontractor/service industry experience preferred!

**Please note-- this is an in-office position in North Georgia.

Responsibilities:

• Handle daily accounting activity by entering and processing financial transactions with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.

• Prepare and record journal entries to support the general ledger and maintain complete accounting records.

• Reconcile routine accounts, including bank, credit card, and other ledger balances, and resolve discrepancies as they arise.

• Manage accounts payable workflows, including reviewing documentation, confirming coding, and supporting timely payment processing.

• Provide accounts receivable and billing support by assisting with invoicing, payment tracking, and related account updates as needed.

• Create and maintain accounting master data such as vendor profiles, customer records, job information, and chart of accounts details.

• Support month-end and year-end close activities by organizing documentation and completing assigned accounting tasks.

• Assist with audits, account research, and internal or external information requests by gathering and organizing supporting records.

• Review employee time entries for completeness and accuracy, follow up on issues, and prepare approved information for payroll processing.

• Experience supporting core accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliation.

• Working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entries, and routine period-end accounting support.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify documentation, apply accurate coding, and maintain organized records.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, reviewing, and managing accounting data.

• Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Foundation Software and QuickBooks.

• Ability to work effectively in an on-site office environment with dependable attendance.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate with coworkers, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.

• Capacity to follow established accounting procedures, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities consistently.

• Construction industry experience a huge plus.
