Job Purpose

Warranty or “lemon law” litigation has rapidly climbed the list of pressing concerns facing Honda because of the significant expense that the company now pays annually to resolve these matters. California has become most critical for Honda in this area due to the volume of cases in that jurisdiction, which is more than the rest of the country combined. Not only have the amount of cases gone up, but so has the workload per case as plaintiffs’ attorneys are now undertaking significant litigation activities to drive up fees. The paralegal will be responsible for managing a case load, including working with the assigned in-house attorney and Honda's outside counsel.

  • Manage daily warranty documentation, including correspondence, emails, CRRS reports, and legal documents.
  • Includes review, analysis, coding for file, input data into ALMA, follow-up with outside counsel and staff attorney as needed.
  • Negotiate settlements in conjunction with outside counsel. Provide authority as needed.
  • Coordinate documentation required for settlements, including agreements and payoff information
